Increase Google page rank with Technorati – Feed Flare

Posted on February 14th, 2008 by Collin in Links

For those of you who have not read the post I made titled ” Feed Flare hits page one in Google searches ” I urge you to read it after reading this post as the two tie into each other.

Currently Feed Flare has a Technorati rank of 199k after only being a live site for around a month. Our current fan base is sitting at 30 fans which is low but understandable for the age of this site. So how do we have such a high Technorati rank with so few fans? That is simple, I comment on blogs that reward there top commentators. What happens is when you hit the top commentators box that counts as a blog reaction back to your site, even when the blogs owner doesn’t even know who you are.

Here is a simple screen shot from Feed Flares blog reactions page on Technorati.

screenhunter_01-feb-14-0711 Increase Google page rank with Technorati - Feed Flare

The picture shows blog reactions to my site but most of them are from the top commentators  section of the site. All those reactions actually count as a link back to my site, and those links are from sites that have great PR with Google. Those links back to my site are worth a lot and all I had to do to get them was leave a meaningful comment. That means I read the post before I comment, I never spam someones site.

So how does that increase placement in the Google searches.

Well if you read the above post I mentioned, the second screen shot in that post is of Feed Flare hitting page one for our keyword “feedflare” and it shows up as a result of blog reactions from Technorati. Cool Eh! So not only has commenting increased my Technorati rank, but it has helped me place better in the Google searches for my primary keyword I use.

Not all sites reward there top commentators.

Oddly enough Pro Blogger does not reward his top commentators, which probably explains why with him having over 40,000 RSS readers he only averages around 100 comments per post or less. I emailed Darren about that and his response was it increases spam. Well I guess in some ways it would but like most other people I watch my spam and delete anything that looks like it so for me that is not a problem.

Here is a list of a few sites that I comment on where you get rewarded for being a top commentator.

Shoemoney

John Chow

Mixed Market Arts

Winning The Web

The Ratings Blog

That’s just a small list, there is literately hundreds if not thousands of blogs that offer this kind of reward system including Feed Flare, so with that being said, go out there and make some comments.

One last thing, don’t worry if the site has no rank yet, some sites have great content and will move up the PR system as time goes on. When they do that link becomes worth more to you so it is kind of like investing in your future by investing in there’s.

If you liked this post then why not add us to your Technorati Favs by clicking here. In a future post I will discuss how you can make a lot of money with a top 10k Technorati ranked site so you might want to consider subscribing to our full feed RSS after leaving your comment.

Very readable, interesting and educating post Collin – thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.
A challenge is to write an adequate comment, but normally these bloggers post about interesting things so it’s easier to make a comment too.

Funny I found you through my section in Technorati that shows I was mentioned!

People that spam through comments just get deleted on my sites. In my mind if you can’t say something worthwhile don’t bother.

I have been wanting to increase my ranking at Technorati.

I bookmarked the sites you listed, well the three I am not currently reading. I will check them out perhaps add them to my Bloglines.

You have been added to my Technorati Favs. Keep the great posts comin’
