March 1st/2008 Feed Flare will be hosting our grand opening contest. I have decided to wait until then as I wanted to make sure all the bugs are worked out of the site and all of our really cool features are active. (forums and blog directory)
With that said what we are looking for are blog owners who want to help promote there own sites or services by sponsoring our contest. What I mean by promoting your sites or services is that by sponsoring our up and coming contest you will receive the following from us.
- featured review post so contests entrees can view your services and or products (reviews will be 300 to 500 words as well will include pictures of your site as well as three links back to your best posts, this type of review is worth $450.00 on John Chows dot com) To see an example of the type of review your going to get here on Feed flare head over to my other site and see, just click here to view the post.
- listed in the sponsors section of the March 1st contest post (more exposure)
So basically some free advertising for you and your sites through a contest that will draw in a ton of people. What types of prises are we looking for? Here is a small list to give you idea’s
- Free advertising on your sites ( 125×125 spot is recommenced to offer)
- copies of great ebooks
- review services
- T shirts ( we all love free t shirts)
- Entrecard credits (minimum donation of 250 credits required and that gets you in as a sponsor, now that’s a cheap way but a good way to get some great link love and exposure) Credits should be sent to collin@feedflare.ca
- Graphic design services (for things like ad buttons or banners or even headers, please tell me which item you are willing to do)
- Wordpress themes ( that you can’t get for free)
Those are just some of the items we are looking for and are more then willing to look at pretty much anything else that is not included in that list. Our goal with this contest is to be able to hand out a prize everyday for a month and sometimes more then one where we can.
Here is a list of what we all ready have piled up.
- 200 One Buck Wiki pages ( valued at around 10 bucks per page, if not more by now = $2000.00)
- 2 months free advertising on Feed Flare in the form of a 125×125 button, value is around 30 dollars (if design services are needed, we have that covered too)
- Exclusive Theme from Unique Blog Designs ( valued at $99.00)
- Entrecard Credits ( this will be a grand prise amount somewhere over 10,000 credits as a one lump some to a maximum of 20,000 credits, all credits we have over the maximum amount will then go to smaller prises)
- 2 months free advertising on Your World Gallery (125×125 button valued at 30 bucks)
- A copy of the Self Made Chick’s ebook titled, ” How to launch a profitable freelancing business for under $50.00″ ( value of $12.00)
So as you can see, we are off to a great start with what we have all ready piled up and waiting to give away but we want more, lots more. I am not going to get into full details about how the contest is going to work, but it will be easy to enter I promise you that but it might also involve 2 different phases to make thing a bit fun for you and me.

Feed Flare is all for social networking so what I am going to do is this, instead of just promoting Feed Flare in the contest, I will choose one of our sponsors and include them in the contest. (your going to get a crap load of links back to your site and RSS readers as well) Why build one site with a contest when you can build 2 or 3 for the same price.

I have an idea but I’m no coder so I’ll tell you and maybe you know someone that can put something together. How about a contest widget with say 5 links on it – 4 weekly winners and one grand prize winner (in bold or at the top or something). But it would really need to be dynamic so you guys could control the links that show up on everyones widget rather than have everyone download it every week. And of course a link back to feed flare then somewhere on your contest page a link back to all the sites with your widget (widget sponsors) on it… win-win for all!
