Building relevant back links using Wiki pages.

Posted on February 27th, 2008 by Collin in Links

Building relevant back links using Wiki pages is a great way to control some of the links your site is going to pick up as it grows. You have great control using this method of link building as you are in full control of how the link is built. One of the nicest things I have found is while your building your Wiki page, you can add as many links as you want back to your site and target all your keyword phrases you use in your blog and that you want to get ranked better for in the search engines.

There are many free Wiki sites around that allow you to create a page in them that is focused on your site and it’s content. You can also add a small site description to other pages as well within the Wiki community that are relevant. What I mean by that is, if there are 100 Wiki pages that all have the tag line of “making money online” and your site follows that tag line you can add your site description and a link back to your site into those pages as well. Now you have just spent about 2 hours of your time or less if you have all your information ready to go and use a copy and paste method to add your information to which ever pages are relevant to you’re sites content (hint hint) and you will have built up some great free links back to your site.

There is also some Wiki sites out there like the “One Buck Wiki” where you have to by a page. These are great to have as well because no one other then you can edit that page. Once you own it, you own it for life and you can place what ever links you want in the page. You can even use your page as a contest prize ( Win a free link from my Wiki page ) type of thing. What I like about some paid Wiki sites is the value of the pages can some times increase over time as the site fills up. The “One Buck Wiki” site started off selling the pages at 1 buck, but when it hit 1000 pages sold the price increased to 10 bucks per page. Right now there selling for 20 bucks a page because they are hitting there 2000 pages sold mark. When the site hits around 5000 pages sold your page is going to be worth about 100 bucks or so which you can easily sell using a popular forum like Digital point. As Wiki sites grow, so does there page rank, which increases the value of that link to you.

Here are some links to some of the Wiki sites I have created a page in.

About Us

That is just a small list of what is really out there. There is literally hundreds, if not thousands of Wiki sites that you can join and some really have a great page rank. I would suggest to you to take some time over the next week and create some Wiki pages for your site, just remember though to make sure you put your content into relevant category’s or else the link might hurt you instead of helping you.

One last thing, do not go and buy a One Buck Wiki page today, come back for my March Contest as I have a little surprise for ya.

I think SiteHoppin is a good concept but I don’t feel like I’d stay long with it.

The site loads forever to display the showroom and other things I’m still confused to do.

I think they need a lot of work on the navigation and layout. jez my 2 cents..
