<a class="replyTo" href="#comment-9695" rel="nofollow">@Affiliate Marketing Guy Ron Davies:</a>
Hey Ron

I have read an article from Matt Cluts where he has stated that in the new year links are not going to count for as much as they do now. Which would be nice to see to remove all the link selling and buying and the spam link building tools. I do how ever forget where I read this but I was wandering your thoughts on this.

PS
How did you find this article in the first place. Just wandering :)

Great advice on avoiding make money online, that is of course if you cant compete there anyway. On the other hand, one of my (almost 200) sites is #5 out of 90,000,000 (yes, ninety million) sites that compete for the term "Affiliate Marketing Directory" on Google, and I am here to tell you affiliate marketing is equally competitive. People need to stay clear of any of these realms completely, and identify real niches.

Neither "Make Money Online" nor "Affiliate Marketing Directory" are niches by the truest sense of the word, but your point is a good one.

I helped one client develop a site for "wedding favors", and he used my methods to get to the top of Google and stay there and now publishes material on how to do what we taught him. His wedding favors sites do very well.

As a point of note, Google doesn't care what your domain is, only that your url contains the keywords you are going after as far to the left of the url as possible. In other words, don't pick domain name just because the name contains the keyword. Inbound linking counts about 5,000X more than on-site optimization, which is where the url is counted.

Cheers,

<a class="replyTo" href="#comment-9550" rel="nofollow">@Caleb:</a>
PPC is not bad, once you get the hang of it. The hardest thing everyone has to over come is that fact you may lose money when you start off. But on the other hand, how much money is spent on college that never goes anywhere. At least with PPC you will only lose for so long before a nickel falls. You just have to stick with it and learn as much as you can.

Regarding John getting props and Zac nothing, Zac is not here for fame.....John is. Sort of!
