What to do when you have a site take off on you!
Affiliate Marketing
I never check my traffic stats daily, as I am sure most of you know when you start something new it can be frustrating when you see that your site only got 10 visitors for the past day. I got out of the habit of looking at my traffic stats a long time ago. That might of been a mistake on my part!
With my recent server upgrade I have been paying close attention to my sites to make sure things are still working right. Last Wednesday is when Feed Flare was moved to the dedicated server. The rest of my sites were moved on Saturday.
Here is a perfect example of two of my sites that have really started to draw in traffic and how I had to act quickly in re focusing my efforts or which sites I was putting my focus onto to help increase income.
I noticed yesterday that my one dating site was really getting some nice traffic over the past few days. I looked at my old stats report from my old server to see if this was new and it wasn’t. And actually, this affiliate site of mine is only 3 months old and it all ready has passed the daily traffic Feed Flare gets, not by much mind you, but it has. One thing that shocked me to see was I was not getting high enough conversations for the traffic I was getting.
Clicks where registering, but no sales. I ran into this same problem last month with a tracking system I was using where it was dropping my affiliate id off of the link and the sale was not getting recorded. Yesterday I replaced all the links I had on that site, removed all the tracking links and went with the affiliate networks links directly. Well, it was a good thing I did that because I was showing sales as of today. Now, I just have to sit back and wait another week or so then start working with how my site calls my visitors to action, or basically start tweaking things.
Another site I have that I have seen some very amazing things with is a health product site I started (theirs a hint guys) that is currently a week old. I am still building the site, reviewing offers, writing out my content and reviewing affiliate offers to see what I think I can get ranked for. I have three articles listed on the site, and about five separate pages built. My traffic stats only started recording since the move on Saturday so there is not much data yet for me to review, but….
What I have noticed with this brand new site is, over the past three days, it has received 350 unique visitors all ready. Most of those visitors have come from Google search. So I am either getting better at my research as time goes on, or I have found a niche that is very popular and well searched for online but one that no one has put any focus into. There has been focus, it has just been in the PPC industry, not in organic search.
All most all of my efforts I can spare are being focused into that one site. So that’s what you do when you see that you have a site taking off, you have to focus more on. I have been talking to a lot of people over the past few days regarding this site and have been re-tooling it to try and build it into a better, and a major cash pulling machine. BTW, the site is all ready ranked number 1 in Google.
Out of 30 domains I own, and about 15 completely built sites, I have two that are looking to be gold mines. It’s just a matter of working with them more and testing my offers properly.
One thing you need to do and keep an eye open for is when you notice your getting a lot of search traffic that is clicking on your affiliate links but hardly no sales are registering is, look at your other affiliate networks and see if they have the same offer. If they do, switch out the links on your site and see if that helps. Sometimes, just the slightest difference in landing pages between networks can make all the difference in the world. The difference in tracking systems makes a big difference two.

Collin, you are reading my mind. This is exactly what I needed. Thanks.
ReplyYou hit a nugget my friend. “Health” using PPC will most likely get you slaughtered, but you don’t hear much at all regarding it in organics; good job!
