How good is your name in the blogsphere?

Posted on February 22nd, 2008 by Collin in Blogging

As many of us know all ready there are a lot of bloggers that are just out there for them selves and have tricks up there sleeves to push them selves to the top and they don’t care who they plow through to get what they want. Have you ever seen this before?

You see this all the time or at least I do. Maybe it is because I have tried so many different things to try and earn money online and followed word for word what some people have said and ended up making piss all or hurting my site in the process. I am referring to one of my other sites, not this one. Feed Flare as of right now is doing great, I am taking things slowly and not trying to rush things and it looks like it is paying off and I can’t wait to see what rank this site breaks out with when the next Google update hits. Best guesses are coming in right now with us hitting a minimum page rank of 3 or 4 with our first update from Google which would be nice as I am putting in super hours into this blog and it would be nice to have a search engine say to me “hey nice work and great job with your site and content, here is some more traffic for ya”. I am however more concerned that my readers are getting something from this blog and that I am helping them in some way.

Now back to the title of this post, “How good is your name in the blogsphere” and what I am getting at with that title is simple. Do you do what you say you can do and are you going to do what you said you were going to do. The reason I am posting on this today is because about a month ago, there was a contest between two blogs to see who could get the most votes for there blogs, as in which one people liked the best. The prises for this contest was 3 – $100.00 dollar cash prises paid by the loser of the contest. The contest was between Winning the Web and Tyler Cruz.

Winning the Web, or the owner of that site Gyutae Park decided to give people a free T shirt if they voted for him which was a huge turning point for him cause after he offered that he ended up winning the contest. Tyler’s site is 3 times his size according to the RSS feed reader counts for both sites, so that was a great win for Gyutae. But, as the days passed, which turned into weeks, which tuned into over a month and my shirt never came in the mail. I was starting to think that I was suckered by a marketing trick and that Winning the Web was nothing but a bullshit site only looking after himself and who didn’t care about his readers. Well I was wrong, because yesterday guess what came in the mail for me. My brand new, Winning the Web T-Shirt. Here is a pick of me wearing it to show you I am not full of crap.

One thing I will say about this shirt is that I make it look HOT. Sorry Gyutae but I think that is true. If you are ever going to need a model for your cloths I think you better be asking me to be that model.

So in closing, not only is Gyutae a man of his word, that also makes his content trustworthy to read and I recommend all my readers to venture off and check out his site, your not going to be sorry. Thanks again for my first free T-shirt and look forward Gyutae to seeing what you come up with next.

    Well, Lori
I was going to bitch about the fact I got a large shirt but then I would of pointed out that this 5′8 guy is turning into a porker from blogging when I use to be a medium but I figured I should keep that to myself.

They are a good quality too, thick material.

Hey Breakaway, one thing I don’t think he would of been able to tell is how long it would of taken to get to where I am from where he is. My girlfriend has bought stuff from ebay that has taken longer then a month to get to her so I guess the same would apply to this.

    Hey Collin,
Sorry I didn’t back to you earlier. I’ve been at ASW08 and very busy. The shirt looks great on you – and you look very tough. (I’m glad I’m not full of crap like you mentioned either  )

I’ll put the picture up in my gallery with a link back to Feed Flare. Thanks for reading man!
