“stay focused”
The ability to stay focused on your goals can sometimes be one of the hardest things you may ever have to do. This is something I am noticing with myself right now and I decided today to share a few things with you about me and my problem staying focused.
Right now, where I am with blogging and how I am looking at it I have nothing but strong drive and ambition towards what I am doing. So much so that there has to be at least 15 things in my mind “I need to be doing” at any given point. Now for the most part there is nothing wrong with this but when it stops you from getting stuff done on a daily basis then it becomes more of a hindrance then anything else.
Commenting on other blogs is something I need to focus a lot more on but when you are getting into a lot of the things I am getting into right now like with “video blogging” it is hard sometimes to get to the things that really do matter the most to me. I guess I am so worried about making every ones experience here the best it could possibly be. I do comment on other blogs, and quite a few of them on a regular basis and I read a ton more but in my mind I do not comment enough.
So how do I plan to stay focused?
I am going to formulate a schedule that I will follow everyday. One where I only read emails for a certain amount of time, write my posts for another period and then comment. I have read about this type of system on other blogs like My Radical Blogs in the past and I didn’t really think much about it until today. Nice work Les and keep up the great posts! Another thing I am going to be doing is putting a few things on hold that I was going to be doing until I master a few other things that I have all ready started. Cam studio related projects are going to be on hold for a few more weeks but podcasting and video’s are still going to be coming your way, there is just so much to learn about both it has kind of been over whelming but fun and exciting at the same time as well.
Why are there so many things on my mind?
Being a self motivated individual and a person who sets very large goals for himself it is very easy for me to get excited about things I am working on. An example of this would clearly be the new video’s I will be posting here on Feed Flare. Not only am I excited to be doing this finally but there is a way for me to make a ton of money doing it. I will get into how you can “make money video blogging” later this week when I have completed my research and have all my facts. Your not going to want to miss that post (which will be a video) as there is some amazing information your going to want to get that I am surprised not to many people are doing yet.
What is something you are having problems staying focused on?

I think there are a lot of just like you Collin, with a number of things on their mind all the time. The mind just keeps racing.
I can easily get distracted right in the middle of something and it’s hours later that I remember what I was suppose to be doing.
But seriously you are definitely on the right track by creating a schedule. You have to make it with a little room for flexibility.
I don’t know about you but when I am doing something super important there is always interruptions.
When you get your plan together you’re going to share it with us, right?

ReplyHey James, you bet I am going to share it with you guys. You might be doing something different them I am thinking of or planning which may work better for everyone.
Replythanks for this post, it just seems so like me, a dozen different things going on and thinking about more. Just not enough hours in the day to get it all done. Short and long term goals are nice, but which ones do you move to the back burner when they are all so important?

ReplyHey Rebecca, well that is the hard question isn’t it. Which to work on first. Working on short term goals is often the best as you gain results right now, but what you have to do is work your short term goals to fit with your long term so the two tie into each other at some point. Hope that makes sense.
