Well, this is interesting. Google has released a new research tool for Adwords called the Search Based Keyword Tool. Basically what this tools does is it allows you when your advertising through Adwords to punch in your sites URL (or any URL – hint hint) to be able to find more related keywords you can bid on that you might not of known were even out there or were searched for. This tool will allow advertisers the ability to drastically increase there ROI’s plus put a bit more money into Googles hands as a lot more keywords and keyword phrases will be used from now on.

How the Google Search Based Keyword Tool Can Help Bloggers!

Did you pick up on my hint up there. I know most of you are not into PPC and are waiting to see how my month fairs. But if your interested in growing your blogs to the max level you can use this new tool by Google to help you do just that. Lets say you want to build your blog bigger around the keyword phrase “Make Money Online”, but you don’t think you can because of guys like John Chow and there blogs. This tool, can show you what keywords and phrases are related to any site on the Internet and show you what search terms are sending traffic to that site and what you might be able to get some rank for.

As you can see if you click on the thumbnail to the left there are a few terms that John’s site is related to that I am sure he does not even know about, and thoose are terms that are sending him traffic. Well, seeings how this tool is based around advertising and Adwords, bloggers who do not do any type of PPC may not even know this tool is out there so that can give you an advantage over them and allow you to grab some extra traffic to your blog that should of been going to them. John will know about this tool if he does not know all ready, I was just using him as an example. I know this could be looked at as a evil thing to do but hey, you can count on the fact that if your blog is doing good someone can or will be doing it to you.

My personal thoughts on the new Google Tool!

I personally love it! after first looking at the tool and doing some reading up on how it works and such I can’t wait until tomorrow so I can add a bunch of new keyword phrases to my campaigns and see how well this tool really works.

Regarding finding new terms to bid on for this blog, that is if I was to set up a PPC campaign for it. Well, its going to be a while before I do that because the suggested bidding costs for my keyword phrases I found that are related to Feed Flare range from $1.90 up to $7.50 per click. LMAO, I can’t afford to advertise my own blog.

Which raises a new question, if a blogs worth is often judged by the amount of readers it has, should it not also be judged based on the keywords that are related to it?

When you start off as a new blogger or if you are breaking into a new niche keeping up with your competition can sometimes be a bit of a pain in the butt to do. In order to follow others in your niche you have to find the other blogs using something like Google blog search, then start leaving comments to get your self noticed in that niche and drive traffic to your blog.

Here is a very easy way to keep up with your competition and save time doing it.

Instead of searching for other blogs related to your niche, create Google Alerts for it that emails you the second someone posts about what your niche pertains too. Creating a Google Alert is simple as heck to do. First you must go to the Google Alert site (visit it by clicking here) and then pick the keyword you want to follow, what type of alert you want to create and from what source it comes from, then enter your email address and your done. Google will send you out a conformation email, once confirmed, every time a post is made using that keyword you picked you get notified about it.

Here is an example of setting up a Google Alert.

By doing this you can start to get your self noticed as being an expert in that field by the relevant comments you leave on posts about your chosen niche your getting alerts for, or you can also drive traffic to your site being one of the people who are always the first to comment on blogs about that topic. There are a lot of benefits to creating a few Google Aerts and there is also no limit to how many you create.

When you go to leave a comment just don’t leave your name. You want people to see who you are and what your about before they even click on your name to visit your site. When leaving comments try using this method when filling out the comment form.

Name – Collin – Monkeys

Email – collin@monkeys.com

URL – www.monkeys.com

This helps with branding as well. There is a added bonus to leaving comments this way too. A lot of blogs are still do follow which means when you leave a comment you get a link back to your site. By having your keywords along with your name you are going to be creating back links to your site using your keywords. This is really going to help you out with your page rank.

You can try this out now, by leaving a comment after this post using your anchor text along with your name. Get your self into my top commentators widget in my sidebar and you have a link back to your site using your anchor text. Cool Eh!

P.S.

You can also gain free back links to your site by submitting your posts to Link Adore
