Well slap my butt and call me silly, how dumb the problem was that was killing my feed! After a week of getting frustrated and almost telling Feedburner off , it turns out the problem with my email subscription service was one that I indirectly caused.

Last week, MaxBlogPress released a beta version of a soon to be great plug in called, Max Banner Ads. I was very excited to be part of this beta testing period. The basic operation of this plug in is to make placing banners anywhere on your site a very simple process. And for the most part when I had it on, it was a very simple process which is why I never thought it would cause the problem that it did.

For some reason it was interrupting only my email service I had with Feedburner. Weird eh! What was going on is it was causing a line code error from my site that Feedburner was picking up on and did not like. When the support crew tested my sites feed using Feed Validator they found the problem fast and had me disable the plug in so they could get my email subscription service back on line.

I am happy to report, that my feed reader will show the right number as well as my content will be delivered on time again and I really hope this never happens as I hate these type of frustrations.

Here is a tip for you:

If something ever happens to your site, or to your feed and you know you were not messing around with your account details try thinking back over the week and try and remember if there was something that you did or added to your site first. All you might have to do is undo something that is very simple. This can also be the case if you have added a new advertiser to your site if your site starts to load all of a sudden really slow. I didn’t even think of trying to use Feed Validator to test my feed, that’s how long it has been since I have had a problem……never!

Thanks again crew from Feedburner for all your help this week and sorry for the flood of emails from me

“email subscription service”

After 4 days of having my email subscription service down and not working my thoughts are starting to lean towards taking the next step and and changing providers.

To be honest I am not sure why Feedburner has such a poor support center, but they do! I have tried all week to get a hold of someone with no luck once so ever. 40% of my subscribers to my feed only are email subscribers, so with out being able to deliver content I am not longer providing any source of information or tips to that portion of my readers. Not good if you ask me! My feed powered by Feedburner is not the only way I am followed or people can get my content. Through out the social networking scene I have close to 4000 followers who see my posts daily through those sites and click over if they are interested in leaving a comment.

I have noticed that a lot of people use AWeber to provide there readers with the option of subscribing by email. Does it work good and is it easy to set up? It seems to work very well from what I have heard but what I don’t know is how easy it is to set up? Do they have a trial period so you can test it out, or is that even a smart thing to do? I really am not sure but one thing I don’t like is the cost that comes a long with it. Over $15.00 per month sure seems like a lot to me, if you never plan on marketing through AWeber, which I don’t then that feels like throwing money out the window, but the again maybe not if I have peace of mind right.

Who provides your readers with email subscriptions and how do you like them? I think I am going to give the mighty Feedburner a few more days to react to get things fixed before I do something hasty.

I know that today I was going to talk about something else other then an issue I have been having over the past 3 days with my email subscriptions not going out at the set time, but today I have to post on this because it is pissing me off to no bitter end.

I have however emailed Feed Burner three times on this issue with no response back as of yet, so what is a man to do when this happens? Well, I did the next best thing I called Google! That’s right, the big “G” heard from little old me today. To bad though Feed Burner only deals online and through emails but the very nice lady on the phone was so helpful and was fully understanding of my situation (50% of my readers are email subscribers) that she took the message and forwarded start to the Feed Burner department by hand. How’s that for service eh!

I guess what I am really getting at today with this post is that when all else fails, get on the phone, as you will most likely see results faster that way, and being nice on the phone instead of being snappy is always a good thing too!

I hope everything is working normally soon so I can get back to what I wanted to be posting on this week, making money online affiliate marketing.

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently update content of websites and taking those formats and placing them in one central location for you to view. One amazing thing you must know about RSS is, as an Internet surfer is has the ability to save you time, energy and agravati0n. Why spend hours upon hours surfing the Internet looking for the same information over and over again because you don’t have an efficient way of tracking your favorite sites. Bookmarking is not considered the efficient way to track a sites content, well at least not by today’s standards.

How can I tell you when there is something new if I don’t bookmark the site?

When you subscribe to a websites RSS feed that is how you can be informed when there is new content. The best way to look at what RSS is or what you can reference the principle of it to, are radio waves. When you want to hear something new from your radio or a station you like you can just tune them in and radio waves bring that content to you. Well RSS is, in certain aspects the same if not better then radio waves because it can tell you when there is something new for you to read on a particular site. You don’t even need to visit the site if you don’t want to, by simply subscribing the websites RSS feed they can send you an email when they have updated their content and it can be sitting right in your inbox. You can also subscribe to a sites RSS feed in the form of a reader. Most people are using the Google reader to host all of the feeds they have subscribe too. All you have to do to let the site know you want regular updates from it is to subscribe to the RSS feed. Subscribing to a sites feed is like your preset radio stations in your car. You have your favorite stations programed in and when you want to check to see if there is something on you like all you do is click a button. When you subscribe to a websites feed by clicking on the subscribe button, that’s all your doing, you’re just programming your radio. Nice eh!

What to look for so you can subscribe!

There is a symbol that is used to display a websites subscription services or the fact that it has a feed you can subscribe too. This is a standard symbol that comes in every shape and size and color but is easy to pick out if you know what to look for. Here is what the symbol looks like.

These two half rounded lines with a dot is the international symbol for “really simple syndication” or the websites way of telling you they have a feed you can subscribe to and get your regular updates. There really is a lot of different looks for these buttons and you can view some of them on our Free Buttons page here at Feed Flare this way you can pick them out very easily when your surfing.

I hope this post helps you understand what really simple syndication (RSS) is and why it is a great tool for you use as a Internet surfer, and when you come across a simple like what is shown above you will know just what to do.

Today I have decided to update all of our readers on the current status of Bidvertiser’s new feed service and how fast the customer service team is working to fix any problems during there public beta stage of this dynamic new feature.

When it was first announced that Bidvertiser was going into the RSS Feeds market with there ad network there was quite a few alarms flying around the Blogsphere. People, and including me were very scared of loosing our current feed readers while trying out a new method of advertising in our feeds. Bidvertiser has removed the sounds of these alarms almost as fast as they came up simply by proving that there client care service team was responding to the concerns just as fast as they we’re coming in.

Great features have been added like a super easy plug in download for WordPress to integrate your RSS Feeds with Bidvertiser ads which get nicely displayed in your feeds. They also found a amazing cure as to prevent you from ever losing any of your readers during the move to there feed, heck you don’t even need to leave FeedBurner as this new method of making money online combines smoothly with the RSS Giant.

One problem with this public beta has been the fact that day after day the same ad’s were showing up in email subscriptions. When I emailed customer service regarding this they were already on top of it and it was set to be fixed by the end of the week. I have never seen a service team work so fast to insure there strong place in the market.

In closing, feed counters remain unchanged and profits are soring for all who have taken advantage of this great new service from Bidvertiser. A huge benefit is there is no limit to how many readers you have to have, you just need to be is a publisher with Bidvertiser.
