Well, I know I am a little late getting this post out but I have been busy – lol. It’s just that time of year to bust a hump and get as much done as you can as we are all in some way getting into our busy season. So that is what I have been doing.

Now, regarding my affiliate marketing income report for October. To say the least it was an interesting month. No Media Buying took place once so ever as I spent the entire month waiting for my September income to show up so I could get things funded. Unreal eh! I am still waiting on around 2500.00 from September to come in and once I have it – were kicking things up. I am actually in the process right now of setting up two new buys to test out. One with a partner and one alone through a contact I got with Ultimate CPA. Stay tunned on them, you know I am going to be posting once everything goes live in the next week or so.

Ok, now to the meat of this article – my October income report.

Affiliate Marketing Income Report for October 2009

Regular Earnings (SEO Sites)

Media Trust – $480.72

Copeac – $360.64

Max Bounty – $92.96

Azoogle – $114.40

Wotogepa – $115.56

Hydra – $175.65

Karaktr track – $42.43

Ultimate CPA – 69.33

Opes Media – $369.79

Affiliate Marketing Regular Earnings Total = $10648.00

Recurring Affiliate Commissions

Inlinks – $50.02

PPC Coach – $115.00

Unique Article Wizard – $115.00

Recurring Affiliate Income Total =$280.02

Monthly Sub Total = $ 10,928.00

Expenses For Regular Earnings in August

Dedicated Server – $154.00

Unique Article Wizard – $70.00

PPC Coach – $49.00

Media Buys Coach – $100.00

Total Expenses = $373.00

Total Net Income For October 2009 = $10555.00

So we went up a bit from last month which was completely shocking to me. I had another 25 or so sites go dead (which is why you see nothing from Unique Leads this month. It looks like a advertiser got slapped from Miss Oprah – Again.

Now, if you will excuse me I have a network to rebuild again and Media Buying to get started on.

Stay Tuned!

First off I want to thank Thor Schrock for getting me onto the Top Affiliate Challenge last summer. I still remember how badly I was shaking when Thor called me and told me there was a last minute opening on the show – I was glad I got the call and glad I went.

Even though a lot of the contestants (and viewers) didn’t really like what the show was about or how it was put together, being on it will always be a memory of mine that I will hold on to forever. I met a lot of really great people on that show, people I learned a lot from, and people I hope I was always talk to.

The biggest thing I pulled out of being on the Top Affiliate Challenge was a understanding of what affiliate marketing was really about. I learned what I needed to do to get to where I am right now (which is a 6 figure income) and what I needed to do to hit my goals now and for the future.

Here Is A Very Valuable Tip!

I have never been afraid of working long hours in my life, and Lord knows I have put my time in with my former plumbing career and now online but there is just so many people out there who think that affiliate marketing, once you start making money, is an easy job. It’s not!

It takes hours upon hours of research into your niches to find out what works and what don’t. Then there is the problems of dealing with affiliate networks and advertisers just plan old robbing you of your money cause they can. And then there is staying on top of what your doing to make sure you don’t lose it, and that’s not talking about the hours you spend maintaining what you do have going to make sure that don’t die.

For the most part I am happy with what I am doing now. I just wish I could trust networks and advertisers a bit more then I do, but then again, maybe that’s just part of this industry I am yet to get use to.

So the moral of this story is?

If an opportunity ever comes your way to do something like the Top Affiliate Challenge, go for it – it will be worth it’s weight in gold to you and your future. And, if you want to make money online from home (in your PJ’s most days) your going to have to work on it, and work on it hard!!!

Thanks Again Thor!!

PS

For the first time in my life, I actually love what I do for a living.

I got an interesting email today from someone basically questioning my income report and if the numbers I listed were true or not. I was also asked if I was spamming to make that kind of money.

Any of my regular readers know and even more so the people who I work with in my mentor program know that I do not spam to make money, as they have seen some of my sites.

What I wanted to do today was show you a screen shot of account with Media Trust (Advaliant) and show you last months income I had with them as well as what my current income is for the month.

OK so here is a screen shot of last months income from Media Trust.

Now let me explain the differences between what I posted as my income report to what you see above.

First off – as any of you know – I am a Canadian. SO when I do my monthly income reports I do the conversions into Canadian dollars. I operate in that so it only makes sense to me to do my reports to you guys the same way.

The second thing is, the amount shown that I made from Media Trust is different then what I posted and is actually a lot higher. With working with my affiliate manager at Media Trust “Richard” and also with the President “Jivan” we found that I had a broken link on one of my sites. So after looking into it – Richard and Jivan discovered there was around 81 leads I never got paid for. They added that amount to my end of the month total which showned up in my account after I made my income report.

So after conversion was done I actually made $9152.00 from Media Trust which is a difference of $3556.00 increase to my actual report that I posted. Meaning I hit close to $14,000.00 last month.

Personal Note

One thing I have always liked about Media Trust (Advaliant) is the fact that they are honest. Most other networks would not of pad me back those leads I lost due to the broken link issue. This is one thing to keep in mind when working with a network.

OK this I will admit can be a bit tricky to do, but one thing I have always believed in is to never have all your eggs in one basket. If you do, I can pretty much promise you – your losing money.

Every affiliate has there primary network (there bread and butter so to speak) that they use and I have mine. Instead of just keeping all my campaigns in one place, over the past two months I have been increasing the amount of sites built with other networks following my system , plus I have been adding there links into rotation (using Prosper 202) on sites that I know are producing leads and have good traffic. This has done a few things for me.

Helped me build credibility with more then just one network. You can build a stronger relationship with the networks and your affiliate managers when they see you actually produce an income and that you can also prove that you know what your doing.

It has also helped me balance out where my money comes from. Not every network follows the same payment routine so, if you can even out where your leads are coming from – you can spread out your income to show up at different times of the month. This has helped me a lot because I am a shopping whore!

Regarding your primary network.

Once you get your earnings high enough with them, you can ask to go on a by weekly payment schedule. Most networks will do this for you because they know you have expenses you need to cover and if they want to see you keep growing – you need your cash flow.

Have you ever thought of this?

Networks can get judged on the quality of there affiliates, just like we get judged based on the quality of our leads. So, based on that quality – different networks will post different conversion rates. By adding in a few links of the same offer from different networks – you can assure you are getting the most possible money and also find the network with the better affiliates for that offer. If your just trying a new network out – make sure they know they are in rotation with another network too – just in case the network is scrub happy!

“At the end of the day its all about making money and trying to keep everyone honest while protecting your income”

Wow, this is kind of exciting! I have never posted an actual affiliate marketing income report before on this blog, but I figured it was about time that I did. Currently I am using a few different networks to make money from and I am going to post them in order from the highest to the lowest.

This order does not reflect my opinion on any of the networks. I think all the networks I work with are good, just some of them I have been working longer with so that would be the only reason why they might be higher up in the income stream.

Ok, here we go with my March 2009 Affiliate Marketing Income.

Standard Affiliate Commissions

Advaliant = $2768.97

Pepperjam Network = $2054.28

Neverblue Ads = $1133.68

Lead Expose = $283.99

Convert 2 Media = $168.20

Market Leverage = $ 139.51

Titan Pay = $ 90.92

Karaktr = $ 89.68

Direct Agents = $69.75

Azoogle Ads = $44.21

Hydra Network = $39.86

Recurring Affiliate Commissions

PPC-Coach = $ 754.84

Inlinks = $ 66.60

Gross Profit - $7704.49

Expenses for March

Dedicated Server = $155.00

Unique Article Wizard = $67.00

PPC Coach = $49.00

Godaddy Domains = $200.00

Total Expenses = $471.00

Total Net Profit = $ 7233.49

So all in all I would have to say that March was a good month for me. I am always pushing to grow and am by no means willing to stay at that income level so with that I have to just keep pushing, repeating and building my sites to reach my goals.

To get professional help with setting up web sites to help them convert for me was a huge thing. My new style of websites verses my old style I use to have 5 months ago has made all the difference in the world. Having dozens of professionals look over your work who you can trust that will not steel your work is also a great asset. I got all this and more with my $49.00 a month subscription to PPC Coach.

The point I am trying to get across is…

A lot of people I speak to want to do PPC but just can’t afford the budget it takes to get into it. Honestly, all you need is $300 a month and your moving. But, if that 300 budget is a problem for you which it is I am sure for a lot of people, then you are still going to need help making your budget and getting help with how to set up a site to get it to convert.

I just wanted to point out today that PPC Coach, for me, is a lot me then pay per click training. It is the ultimate training tool for anyone who really wants to make money in affiliate marketing and for the cost of $49.00 per month you are honestly getting a lot more in return than what you pay for.

The help I got from PPC Coach and the forums has helped me hit just over $6000.00 this month. Oh ya, while I am thinking about it – the beginning of every month from now on I am going to post my earnings in affiliate marketing and what methods I used to make that money. Now you can follow along with me and watch my full growth.

Affiliate marketing is all about trust and building strong relationships. Every Guru will tell you that, but with me not being a Guru yet I need to also build strong relationships and trust with my networks I use.

One thing I never thought of asking my managers in the past is how they go about approving advertisers. I never thought about asking this question before because I always thought it was not my business. Well, as it turns out, it is my business. It’s my money on the line trying to promote there products or services-right?

Affiliate networks have a responsibility to ensure the advertisers they take on have enough funds to back there campaigns they want advertised as well as have enough product to go around. If your affiliate manager has no clue about either of the above then you need to find a network and a affiliate manager who does know something.

This information, if you ask for it, should not be kept from you! Some networks take on advertisers to just make a quick buck – and in some cases that is fine – but for new affiliate marketers starting out it can take some time before you get traction with an offer so if it is gone when your traction comes you just wasted how much time?

I bring this up today because this is exactly what has happened to me. The one site I have right now that is producing money, $910.00 this month so far, should be twice as much as that because my search traffic is 50% looking for another offer – one that the network I got it from pulled two weeks after I started building the site for it. My sites name is exactly what the offer is called, so how I am making money with another offer is beyond me. I will take it though.

Conclusion

Before you start running an offer and building sites based around that offer make sure it is going to be around for a while. Don’t waste your time and money on a offer that is geared towards PPC marketers who can get fast traffic for a few weeks and turn off their campaigns when the offer is done. If you have to build up your marketing budget with search traffic then make sure you have a solid foundation offer to start from.

Or better yet – have a generic domain name so you can flip offers when need be and not be stuck with a page one listing for a popular offer that you don’t have!!!

One of my favorite actresses is Charlize Theron. I think I have seen most of her films and own a few of them myself.

Her latest film which is scheduled for release this month called Battle in Seattle looks like it will be a good one for sure, and one that I am not going to miss, being a fan and all of Charlize Theron.

I am sure that most of you, or at least some of you remember in November 1999, forty thousand or so demonstrators descended into downtown Seattle to protest the World Trade Organization’s (W.T.O.) first ministerial conference ever to be held on American soil which turned into a full scale riot after 5 days or so.

Battle in Seattle is a Hollywood dramatization of the actual events. Even though there is Hollywood behind the making of the film, the actual story gets told in a way so it feels like you were really there. Films based on true stories are always my favorite to watch.

There are a few other top actors in this film like Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta, Martin Henderson. A good line up if you ask me.So if you like movies based on actual events, then I think this is going to be a must see for you.
