Woopra, is yet another free analytics program available for webmasters to use to help track there sites performance and visitors. I started using Woopra over this past weekend and in today’s text post as well as in my video you will see some of the pro’s and con’s of using this new service that I have found so far. I will be making regular posts about Woopra and there progress as time goes on.

Watch today’s video and read the entire post.

Video Recap!

What I like about Woopra is how easy it is to find out darn near everything that pertains to your sites traffic, all from the comfort of your desk top, you don’t even need to be online to find out how your site is doing traffic wise. Installation is very simple, all you need to do is make you sure have Java enabled on your computer, install a plug in (or copy and paste the Java code if your not using Wordpress) to your blog and download the desk top application. Enter your sites ID number and your all set.

One thing I was amazed with is how easy it is to see where your traffic is coming from. In seconds I was able to see that I had traffic referred to my site from Shoemoney dot com and the Top 100 List over at 45n5. When search engines send you traffic, not only do you see what search engines referred you traffic but also what search terms were used to get you that traffic. What I found cool and this was something I didn’t know before I started using Woopra was that MSN Live search is my biggest traffic sending search engine, well maybe but we will get into that in a second.

Ok so it has not been a second yet, what I don’t like about Woopra, and really this is the only thing and that is it is not as accurate as Awstats. For example Since Saturday I have had over 500 visitors to my site and Woopra only shows about 50 of them. I found out that this might be because it is a Java run program so browsers who do not have Java enabled may not count or may not be able to be tracked properly. This is something I hope gets fixed, if they can. If it was not for the fact that the detail that is listed is so precise I problably would not of be saying anything about this site at all but since what information you do get is great, I would go for it if I was you and seeings how again it is a free service you really have nothing to lose by giving them a try.

Woopra is still in beta so I am hoping they are able to get things fixed so all visitors are tracked, but time will tell. One thing I am going to be taking a closer look at has to do with affiliate marketing and using the information I do get from Woopra and applying it to my sites monetization. Knowing what search terms send me traffic, will help me make more money for sure!!!

I would like to also thank John from One Man’s Blog (or what is Another Mans Blog, I forget) “JK” for putting me onto this new analytics program. Thanks dude
