Akon – Konvict Music hits Winnipeg!
last night I went to a concert that I have been waiting to go to for a long time. My favorite R&B Artist was in town, Akon. I will say this about last night before I say anything else, I am sure glad I had my new Flip Mino camcorder along because I was able to get some once in a life time footage that I am sure a lot of people would love to have. When watching the video’s keep in mind that this is a very small camcorder and the music was very loud last night so some of the base is a bit distorted.
It was a night filled with very popular Hip Hop music and great artists at the MTS Center here in Winnipeg. Opening the show was Kardinal Offishall, a Toronto based native that currently has a number one song out where he is paired up with Akon. The second performer was Sean Paul which to me was ok, I am not a big huge fan of his, but it was good I guess.
The next act to open for Akon was someone I was not really sure of, and that was Wyclef Jean, but after watching him on stage and later on performing with Akon all I can say is I am now a fan for life. Wyclef is one extremely talented artist and performer and has some great music.
Here are a few video’s I took last night from the concert!
This first video is a very close encounter I had with Akon and I almost died in the process of getting this video, well you’ll see why when you watch it, and yes I got to touch him…Twice!
This next video is of Akon and Wyclef together for the last song of the night.

ReplyYes you saw my hands rubbing up on him. I touched him twice dude…..I know that sounds gay but hey….it was Akon!!
ReplyHiya Colin! How did you manage to sneak a recorder into the concert? Usually the first thing one gets told is that no recording of the artist’s performance is allowed. You can be lucky that security didn’t do some tap dancing on your head, especially after touching Akon…..twice…..heheheh
ReplyWell, A Flip Mino Camcorder is small enough to fit in my pants in an area they don’t frisk. And when I was holding it up recording it looks like a cell phone so they didn’t pick up it was a camcorder at all.
Replyhehe it doesnt matter bro if it sounds gay or not ..
Replynot all of us get to stay that close to akon ..
i am a real big fan, i would love sitting next 2 him in a concert or something

ReplyYeah the sound quality wasn’t that great but that’s okay, I’m sure it was a hell of a show. Wyclef Jean is one talented brotha! I’m not a big fan of Akon’s voice but he definitely knows how to entertain the crowd..Getchya hands up! Getchya hands up!
