Well slap my butt and call me silly, how dumb the problem was that was killing my feed! After a week of getting frustrated and almost telling Feedburner off , it turns out the problem with my email subscription service was one that I indirectly caused.
Last week, MaxBlogPress released a beta version of a soon to be great plug in called, Max Banner Ads. I was very excited to be part of this beta testing period. The basic operation of this plug in is to make placingĀ banners anywhere on your site a very simple process. And for the most part when I had it on, it was a very simple process which is why I never thought it would cause the problem that it did.
For some reason it was interrupting only my email service I had with Feedburner. Weird eh! What was going on is it was causing a line code error from my site that Feedburner was picking up on and did not like. When the support crew tested my sites feed using Feed Validator they found the problem fast and had me disable the plug in so they could get my email subscription service back on line.
I am happy to report, that my feed reader will show the right number as well as my content will be delivered on time again and I really hope this never happens as I hate these type of frustrations.
Here is a tip for you:
If something ever happens to your site, or to your feed and you know you were not messing around with your account details try thinking back over the week and try and remember if there was something that you did or added to your site first. All you might have to do is undo something that is very simple. This can also be the case if you have added a new advertiser to your site if your site starts to load all of a sudden really slow. I didn’t even think of trying to use Feed Validator to test my feed, that’s how long it has been since I have had a problem……never!
Thanks again crew from Feedburner for all your help this week and sorry for the flood of emails from me

Hi Collin,
Thanks for beta testing our plugin. That rss feed problem has already been fixed.
Can you please download the latest version of the plugin again (using the same url I had provided you) and let me know how it worked for you?
ReplyHi Pawan, I sure will thanks for the heads up!
