For all of you who have been reading about Media Buying on my blog over the past month and have been interested in learning more about how Media Buying works and how you can start off in it for yourself, today is your lucky day. Media Buys Coach is now live!

I am sure most of you do feed yourselves but what I am really trying to ask you is, do you subscribe to your own feed? There are two really good reasons why you should subscribe to your own feed and today’s post will explain why you should.
First I want to make it clear, that subscribing to your feed is not a good way to increase your feeds numbers. Well, I guess it can be but I can think of a few hundred things that you could do with your time if you have that much of it to spare.
The first reason – in a reader!
When you subscribe to your own feed “in a reader” you are given a unique chance to view what your feed looks like to others. Most importantly, you have a chance to review your post titles and see how attractive they are. Looking at your feed in a reader lets you see what everyone else sees when they look at your feed, so by taking the time every few days to review your post titles and how your feed is displayed you will be able to change the way your writing your titles and make them stand out more. You have to keep in mind just one thing, a lot of people who use readers have hundreds of subscriptions in them so by having a catchy title that is going to make your post stand out more will help to get those subscribers to your site.
2nd reason – subscribe by email!
“Subscribing by email” allows you to re read your full post for day and hopefully catch any mistakes and quickly get them changed. You can also review how your laying out your posts because again your seeing exactly what everyone else sees. I am not sure if most of you who offer email service offer it in full text or not but using this method only works if you can see your whole post. I offer my email service as a full post as I don’t believe in trying to trick people into coming over to my site with a catchy opening statement. If I need my readers here for any reason I would just ask, there is no tricks up my sleeves here as all I want is for you to enjoy what ever it is I have decided to post on for any day.
I am wandering though, how many of you have subscribed to your own feeds and do you use those subscriptions to try and help you out with your writing.

I subscribe to mine through email but not a reader. I may do that too.
To go along with this, I strongly advocate you sign up for your own sutoresponded newsletter if you do one.
You not only catch mistakes (like those that simple spell check won’t), but you can then send an immediate follow up email acknowledging that you see it and apologise for it (especially if it was a big blunder)…..this reassures once again that you’re not just a machine.
Trust me, this is a good idea

ReplyHey Dennis, what do you know about news letters. I am seeing a trend with them and watching peoples RSS readers climb up in numbers but can not figure out what the angle is.
ReplyOK, my turn to be confused LOL
I don’t see the connection between newsletters and RSS.
RSS only picks up what’s posted on the blog. Sure you can post newsletters as blog posts I suppose, but what I’m referring to is building a separate email list.
Notice I have both RSS signup and the button that says Newsletter.

ReplyMaybe Dennis I am off with what I am thinking. I have just been watching certain bloggers have some very nice spikes and it seems to be that they are pushing there new letters more then there feeds.
Where do you go to get a new letter produced or how does this happen. Maybe fire me an email or something if you want.
ReplyEmail sent.

ReplyHey Colin, Hows it goin’
ReplyI subscribe to both my feed and my own auto responder. I use my auto responder to deliver my blog feed. Its another option for my Blogs visitors. I seldom send promotional item with auto respnder unless I feel it is really worth my readers time or something I feel it’s something they may actually benefit from.
