What is search engine demographics – SED – and how to use it!
“search engine demographics”
There are a lot of terms to describe different area’s in the Internet world and today I am going to focus on SED. What SED means is search engine demographics and that is an area all affiliate marketer’s must know and understand very well if you ever want to make money online affiliate marketing.
Watch today’s video and read the text post below.
Search engine demographics is basically the understanding of what age group and what gender is using what search engine the most. Why this is important is if you are going to run a PPC campaign or SEM (search engine marketing) your going to need to know where your target audience is to insure you get the highest results and make the most money.
Here is an example that I used in today’s video.
If you are looking to start up a PPC campaign for a weight loss system you are going to yield better results advertising that affiliate program on MSN search or Yahoo search. The age groups of searchers on MSN are above 35 to 40 years old, and Yahoo searchers are mostly women. When your a young bugger you don’t spend to much time thinking about your weight simply because your active, but when you get older you slow down and that is when you start to think about it more. Google holds the younger crowd of searchers that are also mostly men. How many guys do you know walk around saying they need a new weight loss system? If you are going to run a campaign for ring tones on the other hand, Google is the place to be for sure based on there age group of users.
Understanding the search engine demographics will also help you target the age group that has the money to spend online so if you decide to run an affiliate program for investing that requires a sign up fee you can insure that you will get the most sign ups for clicks instead of surfers burning up your budgets.
There has been hundreds of thousands of dollars spent off line knowing how to target the right crowd for certain products, we as affiliate marketers need the same information for our PPC campaigns so we can do the same. This is one topic I am going to be covering a lot and spending a lot of time on simply because I want the best results every time out of the gate for all my search engine marketing campaigns, I don’t believe is wasting money to test out the waters. I want the facts first, don’t you?

Excellent post my friend, and you are CORRECT!
Unfortunately though, I think you’re preaching to the 1%.
Take 10 average people wanting to run some campaigns. 8 will go straight to Google because their Google. The 9th will do a little research into cost per click ratios and go with the cheapest.
#10 will do it right…usually.
