Life after the Top Affiliate Challenge acceptance !

Posted on June 26th, 2008 by Collin in Top affiliate challenge

I will admit, getting on the Top Affiliate Challenge at the last minuet has made for a very busy last few days for me. So much so that last night I just had to go to bed early and relax. Now today’s post is going to show you the difference getting on the Top Affiliate Challenge has made for me so far as a blogger (and I am not even there yet) and why I think everyone should try out for it next season.

First off, I received a phone call from John  Chow’s affiliate manager from NeverBlue Ad’s wishing me luck on the show and to talk about what my plans are after the show. The reason why she called me had nothing to do with John really but the fact she is also Canadian and from Winnipeg where I live as well. For those of you who don’t know, NeverBlue Ad’s is based out of Vancouver. I was very happy to get that call as we also discussed some NeverBlue Ad’s giveaways here on Feed Flare, and a giveaway that every blog is not going to have the right to hold either. I look forward to hooking up with NeverBlue Ad’s while I am in Lincoln so we can all get a chance to know each other better.

Secondly, Ad sales have jumped up as well. My pay-pal account has been climbing up and I love seeing that. You see, some people are very smart and know what kind of traffic being on this show is going to do for some blogs or everyone who has a site that excepts advertising on it, The Top Affiliate Challenge is expecting over 1,000,000 visitors to hit the show while its on. So a few people have jumped on board and booked up six months worth of advertising before the traffic doubles here over and over again and before price climbs up. Right now the price for a 125×125 button ad on Feed Flare is going for $20.00 a month, after the show I can see it easily hitting between $100.00 to $150.00 (remember – I am working beside the likes of John Chow and Shoemoney and Ken McArthur so tips and tricks are going to be plentiful I am sure) per month so by locking up six months right now, they are saving a crap load of cash. Very smart if you ask me.

Those are just two of the major assets being on the show has brought me so far, and remember I am not even there yet. 2 days to go and I am very excited to get there. What is going to be hard for me though is being away from my family for almost 3 weeks. I am hoping it is all worth it in the end, and I am sure it will be as my family is my main reason I wanted to be on the show in the first place. A chance to improve our lives.

Collin I’m so excited for you!

Yes I’m also a contestant and opt-ins to my lists have increased and I’ve already been offered a couple of huge JV opportunities that I’m considering (Joint venture in case anyone didn’t know that alphabet soup – sorry).and this will be a HUGE opportunity for exposure for all of us.

I also have a television crew coming out to do a special segment on me to air the first day of the show and have received some newspaper coverage as well.

I enver thought I would audition for a reality show, but when I was at a live event and Thor talked about it, my first thought was, “Sure, why not.” Then I thought about the exposure just auditioning would bring whether I made it or not.

I allied with the World Association of Persons with DisABILITIES http://wapd.org to share part of my winnings and was invited to ask the entire membership base to vote for me.

Two big names in internet marketing mailed to their lists asking people to vote for me as well. I never “pulled in a favor” or even asked them. It was because of the power of the relationships already in place.

Practice saying yes when an opportunity comes. It just could change your life!
