When oppotunity knocks don’t walk, RUN!
So last night, after I locked up my killer affiliate site name I was sitting with my Fiance Andrea just watching a show on TV (oddly enough called Canadian Idol) when the phone rang. It was Thor Schrock, the producer of the Top Affiliate Challenge!
As it would seem the number 1 contestant Ty Hurd had a family emergency come up and he had to with draw from the show, almost last minuet. Which left a spot open for, your guessed it, me and that’s why Thor was calling me. I had a few obstacles to over come really fast before I could commit to flying down to Lincoln Nebraska. I had to re-reschedule a very heavy re – conditioning therapy treatment I started 2 days ago for my torn disc’s in my back, book a flight, and line up a baby sitter for my son for 2 weeks. I managed to pull that all off in just over an hour so that was good and then I committed to the show.
I honestly feel bad for Ty Hurd for not being able to go and I hope all turns out well for him and his family but from my point of view when a second chance hit my lap to go on the show. I had to hit it running! I am so looking forward to rubbing shoulders with the likes of John Chow, Jeremy (Shoemoney) and Ken McArthur for two weeks. It is not only them I am excited to meet, the rest of the contests and producers as well. Thor Schrock just might even get a hug from me when I get there for the phone call last night. Well maybe not a hug, but a dame firm hand shack for sure.
I have a lot of prep work to do to get ready to head on to the Top Affiliate Challenge, so the next three days before my flight leaves I am going to be running my tail off.
