Video Recap
Before I get into the post I just want to say sorry for this post being late today. I am guessing the video submission site was busy as it took forever to upload the video and get the embed code.Ok so here is a break down of what it should cost someone to get into video blogging if you decide you want to give it a try.
- Camcorder – $226.00 (make is a JVC mini DV)
- Cassettes – $25.00 for 3 of them
- Tripod – $50.00 (this allows me to be my own producer
- Fire wire cable – $26.00 (this is needed to upload your videos to your computer)
- Carrying case – $30.00
Total cost is was around the $350.00 to $400.00 mark which to me is a great investment. I have all ready seen a nice increase in traffic and I am making more money then I was 2 weeks ago. Not to mention I know I am being a lot more personal with my readers.
For editing the video’s I use a program that is part of the windows operating system I have and it is called “movie maker” and it is very easy to use. The best part about this editing program is, it was free and it does everything I could want it to do for now. What I mean by that is at some point I might get into a bit more complex editing but we will have to wait and see on that.
You do not have to go and buy a fancy camcorder or even spend the money I did getting set up. You can go and buy a nice web cam and do the same thing and produce very nice, high quality video’s. The reason why I went with a camcorder is because I wanted to be mobile. I wanted to be able to shoot a video anywhere I wanted, and I can!
